Under the partnership between Spark Cyber Technologies, CTSS Technology UK and Keyo, we now provide Keyo’s leading biometric security devices across our regions
Keyo is building the first privacy-focused identity network. Until now, IDs, keys, cards, and tickets have always been external to us, making it easy for them to get lost, forgotten, or stolen. Keyo solves this with a biometric ID that allows you to pay in-store, unlock doors, redeem tickets, identify yourself and more with a contactless scan of your palm. With a one-time signup, Keyo becomes your universal ID — giving you access to the world with a simple wave of your hand.
As the world’s first privacy-focused biometric, Keyo is GDPR compliant. Since it’s internal to the body, your palm vein pattern can never be taken without your consent, and it can never be accessed by anyone other than you. With Keyo, your identity is in the palm of your hand.
Keyo uses near-infrared light and the hemoglobin in blood to map the internal vein structure of your palm, registering approximately 5 million distinct points of reference. The sensor then converts those reference points into a unique, encrypted key, and deletes the raw biometric data. This key is virtually unbreakable, and cannot be used to reverse engineer biometric data or to create a physical model used to fool security systems.
WHATS THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN KEYO AND SPARK?
SPARK Cyber Technologies have partnered with Keyo to deliver its biometrics identity systems across its operation zones. SPARK is also the Cybersecurity provider of CTSS UK and is responsible for the delivery and integration of Keyo systems to users.
HOW DOES KEYO WORK?
Keyo uses near-infrared light and the hemoglobin in blood to map the internal vein structure of your palm, registering approximately 5 million distinct points of reference. The sensor then converts those reference points into a unique, encrypted key, and deletes the raw biometric data.
WHAT TYPE OF ENCRYPTION DO YOU USE?
We use powerful AES 256 encryption to protect all biometric data. It would take approximately 75X the age of the universe to decrypt this data.
WHO OWNS MY BIOMETRIC INFORMATION?
You own your biometric information, Keyo simply stores an encrypted token of it to enable you to complete certain actions.
HOW DOES THE PAYMENT PROCESS WORK?
First, a Keyo terminal receives a purchase total from a POS. Following this, the user scans their palm, Keyo identifies the user based on 5 million points within their palm-vein structure. That pattern is associated with a payment token, and that token is then sent to our payment partner. The payments provider securely matches that token to an associated card and processes the payment.
DOES KEYO PROCESS PAYMENTS?
Keyo does not store payment data or process payments. Keyo is only an identification layer. We verify your identity token and match that with a payment partner, such as Stripe, who securely holds your payment information.
